The Triennial of Croatian Statuary has profiled itself through its 30-year-old tradition as a distinguishing national manifestation which presents to the Croatian public the very best of modern sculptural art created in the last 3 years. It is a cross-section of sculptural creativity in 3 years, through which contemporary situation is coded from the field of statuary and sculptural issues are actualized.
Founded in 1982, by Gliptoteque of Croatian Acadamey of Science and Art, The Triennial is a competitive exhibition for Croatian sculptors residing in the country or abroad. The jury awards the Great prize and 3 equally valuable prizes of the Triennial, and the winner of the Great prize presents an independent exhibition on the next Triennial.
Aside from the Triennial prizes, since 2003 the program is enriched with new prizes: Croatian Section Award A.I.C.A. (International Association of Artistic Critics of UNESCO), Labin Dubrova Mediterranian Sculpture Symposium Award and Kaptol Center Audience Award.
